From Gmail with Love

I was going through my inbox, trying to clean out the unnecessary junk, but this cleaning turned into reading, and the words started to bring back memories. I stared blankly and wondered how I let life just pass me by one email at a time. Well so to speak. So I decided to share a few lines from some of those I was reading. I will leave the senders anonymous…

From Anonymous Sender:

"I agree the hot tub is the best place for TCB “taking care of business” and of course the best place on earth to change your name to Cindy the stripper who is trying to make it in this business";

“now you can be as cocky as henry hill”

“Fuck you pay me. Lightning struck? Fuck you, pay me. Slow business? Fuck you, pay me, its your birthday, fuck you pay me- in other words, no excuses and give me my just deserve ”

“this is how it begins, first you get hot rushes, u feel lost and isolated from reality, hallucination is possible (but i hear its rare), theres only ONE CURE for this, and that medicine can get u hooked....so its a lose lose situation.”

“like Irving Berlin Said ...no business like show business”

“as for you missy as long as your hungry keep chasing that dream till you land it; word of advice, dont be blinded by this guys material goods, listen to what he has to say; if he starts talkn about money and yachts straight away dump him like a log. but if he talks to you about his journey, his success story and will power listen to absorb. just listen carefully to his phrasing, and dont say nothing about your self, dont show off your skills, its all about the prestige, the final act in a magic show is the prestige, thats when people start to gasp, do play it smart.”

“im sure ur thinking "why didnt i meet this clown earlier on"...right? i guess people come into our lives at certain times for a reason..”

“you cant always live in a 'CAUTION' zone (although it would probably be nice for me to visit it once in a while) there's a million 'what ifs?' all the other over-analyzing pessimists can throw here, but as i say, look for the best and try to live up to it”

“ok i admit the fact that i ignore the economist in me and don’t look out for consequences is a probably a good indication of my reckless behavior sometimes...but you cant always live in a box. i refuse to and i know if living in la has taught you anything, its probably that you shouldn’t.”

“hey im not doin that bad keeping in touch, do i keep my promise or what? u know people always say keep in touch and u always go, yeah for sure! its turns out to be bullshit, cause its impossible to keep in touch with everyone impossible, just the people either care for and love or the people u want something from :)”

Dear Gmail,

Thank you for being such a great secret keeper. I know that once something is on the Internet it technically loses any sense of privacy. But still, once a secret is shared with one other person, it's not really a secret anymore either. So thank you for being a better secret keeper to me, than I sometimes am to myself.

But who really cares about secrets anyways? Nothing stays hidden forever. What I really want to thank you for is the memories that you've helped keep. So many fleeting moments, thoughts, emotions, all crammed into tiny (and sometimes looooong) tidbits and snapshots of life through our emails. Thank you for holding on to those times that we didn't have the foresight to see that they would become memories, where in hindsight I know you knew it all along. You manage to take me back to a happiness, or a sadness, or a fear, or a joy that I have forgotten, and I am mesmerized by how you have turned past moments into delicate, yet forgotten memories.

So thank you again, for taking better care of me than I have taken care of myself, and reminding me of the path that brought me here.

I love you.

Dina
