Dear Brother

Brown eyes fade
As the silence engulfs the heart
She sits watching the image transitions
But sees her life withering away
Succumbing to the life that has left her
Suicidal.

She chokes on the breath she took years ago
As she adorns her bare neck with a delicate necklace
The evening is a momentary escape
Then he stutters irrationally and cells turn
Cancerous.

“It’s your fate” they tell her
As weed kills the beautiful rose
Plays the ace but gambles with her life
Yet still she smiles
For me, for you…
